Do you want to help protect the natural character of Marie Curtis Park? Here are some ideas!
- One of the EASIEST ways to support the park is to treat it with care and respect — take only pictures, leave only footprints. Clean up after yourself and, pick up after your dog if you have one
- Observe wildlife responsibly. Keep your distance and please: DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE
- Please try to observe wildlife as quietly as you can. Some species are skittish, and noise can negatively impact them
- You don’t have to wait for an official park clean- up — try “PLALKING”! PLALKING is Picking up Litter while wALKING! Bring a garbage bag and pick up litter you see while walking in the park. When you finish, please make sure to dispose of the garbage bag and its contents into the appropriate garbage bin
- Please do not bring balloons into the park — invariably some get loose and they can kill wildlife
- If you smoke, please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground – all it needs is some rain to wash the butts into the creek
- If you seen wildlife in distress, contact City of Toronto Animal Services at 416-338-7297 or the Toronto Wildlife Centre at 416-631-0662, or visit their website at //www.torontowildlifecentre.com
